Slate U is free. No fees, no subscriptions.

Each procedure, whether an accessory, maintenance, or service item, is rated with one of four Skill Levels. 1. Beginner; 2. Intermediate; 3. Advanced; 4. Pro. Levels 1-3 are considered DIY, while Level 4 procedures are restricted to Professional Service Partners to perform (this includes procedures related to high-voltage and other more advanced systems). For all levels, Slate U content will include an estimated time to complete, number of people recommended, tools needed, and whether a customer or technician should perform the task.

Only if you want to. You can choose which procedures to do yourself and get guidance on when to rely on a professional. Just a heads up, some procedures require more than one person, so even if you go the DIY route, you might still need someone else to help.

Yes. You'll be able to bookmark tutorials, see what you’ve completed, and resume unfinished sessions. Progress is linked to your user profile.

Yes. You can start with simpler tasks and access increasingly advanced procedures at your own pace. We'll recommend new content based on your history and confidence level and will encourage learning paths to help grow confidence toward tackling more advanced tasks.
